April,30,2012 lesson for chicks!

hello everyone !!! i dont have any pictures for you today because its so cold and the chicks would catch a chill so im giving you a tip about chicks:

if you are looking into raising chicks or already are then make sure your heat lamp isnt to close to the chicks in their pen because they will snuggle right under it and get crisped without knowing! chickens are sweet but not the most intelligent creature :) , Also as they grow taller you want to put the lamp higher up because the same method applies they'll get burned up! thanks for reading fallow me!and comment! :)

April 29 2012 the coop and new chicks!

we now have 14 adorable chicks these ones are the ones i got yesterday there all cute fancy breeds like frizzle batams and silkies! :) and here is our coop!...yes my dad painted it blue but im going to put white trim on it hopefully soon you'll be able to see it later :) but anyway here are the newest additions! enjoy!

I have 8,  I've been working with for about a week here are some pictures of them i have 2 Americana's 2 barred rock 1 white leghorn and 2 Rhode island reds today though me and my sister went to get some more chicks from a private breeder that was selling fancy breeds and i got 6 more hehehe :) i couldent help it they were to cute but today i purchased 2 silkies 1 fizzle bantam   1 lavender Andalusian 1......oh no i forgot their little names o.o IM SORRY!!! but im also showing you a picture of the beautiful rooster that the lady had at her place he i know, is a buff orphington and he sure is pretty :) but anyhoo!!! my sister's husband and is dad are finishing up the coop today at their house and it sure is sturdy and nice ill uplode pictures when they bring it over tomorrow and ill also uplode pictures of my newest additions to my chicken family :)
